A Guide to Booking Your Campsite
There are two ways to enjoy a motorhome holiday – just go wherever the road takes you or to plan all of your stopovers and activities in advance. The following resources will help you to plan ahead:
There a number of online directories available to help you book your campsite. In our opinion, the best web site to look for places to stay is Cool Camping. They include:
- Reviews on a huge number of sites in the UK and France
- Search by town or county
- A list of sites open all year round
Another great resource worth a mention is Searchforsites.co.uk. They feature parking, pub and other stopovers, a route planner as well as campsites across the UK & Europe. They also have a great mobile app, so whilst you’re away you will have wealth of information available at your finger tips.
Camping and Caravanning Club, and Camping in the Forest
When you hire a motorhome from LandCruise you have the added benefit of Privilege Membership of the Camping and Caravanning Club which entitles you to member’s prices on all UK Club Sites and Camping in the Forest Sites. In terms of discount this means you can save up to 30% on UK Club Sites and up to 15% on Camping in The Forest Sites. For more information on campsites see the Camping and Caravanning Club or Camping in the Forest websites.
Sorry you cannot book these campsites online. To book phone 024 7647 5426 and let them know you are hiring a motorhome from LandCruise.
Caravan and Motorhome Club
A totally separate organisation is the Caravan and Motorhome Club. They have a fantastic reputation for campsites with good facilities and in good locations – often within walking distance of towns, villages and landmarks. We sell Express memberships to join the Caravan and Motorhome Club without the hassle of setting up a direct debit. For more details see:
Caravan and Motorhome Club.
To order an express membership, see the insurance booking form for more details or contact the office.
An alternative to booking/visiting campsites is to stay in motorhome stopovers. Brit Stops is a network of free motorhome stopovers all over Britain. They take the form of farm shops, country pubs, vineyards, and many more interesting sites where motorhome tourists can rest, stop over and travel on the next morning having enjoyed some local produce.
To take advantage of the scheme, you’ll need to buy the Brit Stops Guide book, which shows you where all the stops are located, and doubles up as your membership card.
Motorhome Friendly Parking
A great resource is the MMM Magazine guide.
