Dog Shows and Events in 2020

We are a nation of dog lovers, and so it seems are many of our customers. Every year there are more and more dog events and festivals popping up, and 2020 is no exception, with a brand new and very exciting event taking place just down the road from LandCruise HQ!

Here are just a few of the many shows/festivals to visit, and the best places to stay:

Crufts

When: 5 to 8 March 2020
Where: NEC, Birmingham

The world’s greatest dog show returns for it’s 129th year! Crufts attracts over 20,000 competitors alongside hundreds of thousands of visitors each year and is broadcast to an international television audience.

But believe it or not, despite being a dog show, only dogs who have been invited by Kennel Club, or who are registered assistance dogs, are allowed into Crufts!

 

Paws in the Park (Spring Show)

When: 16 to 17 May 2020

Paws in the Park (Autumn Show)

When: 19 to 20 Sep 2020

Paws in the Park shows are the UK’s largest indoor and outdoor dog shows for working, trained and pet dogs, and every year the shows get bigger and better! Over 23,000 people and 15,000 dogs attended the Autumn Paws in the Park last year, and over 1000 camped out overnight to enjoy the free evening entertainment.

 

Dogstival

When: 16 to 17 May 2020
Where: Pylewell Park, New Forest

Dogstival is a two day festival for dogs and dog lovers. Held at Pylewell Park Estate in the heart of the New Forest,the magnificent stately home boasts over 2000 acres, a lake and even its own beach!

As well as the amazing displays in the live arena, you can learn more about your best friend at “The Dog House” behaviour stage, have a go activities such as Flyball and the K9 Aquaports dock and dive pool, or pop over to the Dogstival Lounge for guest speakers talks.

 

Goodwoof

When: 24 to 25 May 2020
Where: Goodwood, Chichester

Forget fast cars and horses, on the May Bank Holiday weekend, Goodwood will be taken over by dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds, with the launch of Goodwoof; a brand new event celebrating everything there is to love about our four-legged friends. According to the website this is not just a dog show; it is a canine extravaganza, delivered with the charm, wit and style for which Goodwood is renowned.

 

Woofstock

When: 7 to 9 May August
Where: Oldstone Farm, Dartmouth, Devon

Woofstock were the winners of the Dog Friendly Awards for Best Day Out 2017, finalist in the 2018 awards and nominees in the 2019 awards. They were also listed in the Sunday Telegraph as one of the top 10 niche festivals in the UK!

Not only do they have the usual dog shows displays and demonstrations, but also a whole host of live music across the weekend including La Voix, I Love Amp featuring Kat Savage, Superstition, Pretty Criminal and more!

 

Doodlefest

Where: Royle Showground, Burton-on-Trent

DoodleFest is an annual event that is run to raise funds and awareness for the Doodle Trust, a charitable organisation that works without prejudice and with empathy for the rehoming of all Poodle cross dogs.

They have a full schedule of entertainment across the weekend including a fun dog show with classes for all breeds and all the stalls and games you’d expect, fancy dress, disco, and fun for the campers on Sunday morning.
