Want to write your own fairytale?
We are looking for a family who want to go to Disneyland Paris this Christmas, in a motorhome, and tell us all about it!
You can travel anytime between 9 November 2019 and 6 January 2020, to experience Disney’s Enchanted Christmas.
NB: We are closed 22/25/26/29/31 December and 1 January
We want you to inspire others and give them ideas and tips on where to stay and how to get the most from their time in a motorhome.
In exchange for your written blog and magical experiences, we will offer you a FREE motorhome hire (up to 1 week), including Fully Comprehensive European Insurance & Breakdown Cover, in any one of our amazing motorhomes (subject to availability).
What we want to see:
Although visiting Disneyland is near the top of many family holiday wishlists, we suspect that not many have considered doing so in a motorhome.
It can significantly reduce the costs of staying in one of the Disney Hotel resorts, as well as giving you greater freedom when it comes to planning your meals throughout the day.
We want you to share with us your first-hand, practical experiences and advice. From the resources you used to plan your route, to your top tips and things to avoid.
- How easy was it to get there?
- Did you stay in a nearby campsite and shuttle in, or did you opt for the resorts own overnight parking?
- Where did you eat?
- and, is a Disney Christmas as magical as we all imagine it to be?!
We’re after a minimum of 500 words and as many photos and videos as you can muster.
What we don’t want to see:
- We don’t want a review of LandCruise – it is to be a travel blog with the intention of informing and inspiring others.
- Just a bullet pointed list of the things you did – we want your thoughts and your feelings, the hows and the whys.
To be absolutely clear, this is not an all-inclusive free holiday to Disneyland Paris.
We will provide you with a motorhome of your choosing and all the necessary insurance and breakdown covers necessary for your trip to France only. Ferry crossings, park entry and any other costs involved will be down to you.

Well never fear, for we have teamed up with award winning travel blogger, Wandering Bird, and asked her to share her top tips on how to write an epic Travel Blog post. Once you’ve taken on board her expert knowledge you’ll be writing like a pro in no time!

9 Tips to write an epic Travel Blog post
There’s something about a blank screen which can be incredibly daunting. Even when you know what you want to write, it can still be a challenge to get it all down in the right way. And never underestimate the pressure of a deadline!
LandCruise understand this, which is why they asked for me to put together my top blogging tips, things which have helped Wandering Bird become one of the most successful motorhome travel blogs in the UK today.
1. Think about the reader
Try to include something funny, interesting or useful for your reader. The whole point of any good travel blog is to inform the READER, not to just tell your story. By sharing your experiences, you are providing something useful for anyone who might follow in your footsteps (or tyre treads?!)
Think about WHY anyone would care about what you’re writing about. What would YOU have wanted to know before you visited. What did you learn that surprised/ impressed/ intrigued you? Then write about that.
2. Be Genuine
This is seriously so important. If you like something, say so. If you didn’t, say that too (politely!), but either way explain why you have those feelings. People aren’t stupid, and they will see right through any waffle or pretend. Don’t try to be someone else or say what you think people want to hear. Be honest.
3. Don’t go into too much detail
Nobody wants to read about EVERY SINGLE thing you ate. Or every sheep/ mountain/ car you passed. You don’t have to mention everything that happened on your trip- just the things you think other people would find interesting/ useful or funny. (Whilst we’re on the subject of humour, please remember not everyone has the same sense of it. I try to avoid saying anything political or religious, even in jest. Swearing is always a mistake.)
4. Get Grammarly
Even if you don’t think you need it. I type for a living, and every single day I make a mistake with something, even if it’s just a spelling error because I’m typing too fast. Grammarly is free and can be downloaded straight to your laptop. (Although it doesn’t seem to work with Pages on Mac. Which is what I’m writing this in!)
5. Split it Up
If you’re struggling to tell a story or get started, break it into small questions. Where was your favourite place (and WHY?!); Where did you camp and what was it like?; What would you recommend other visitors to the area to do (and WHY?). Imagine you’re talking to your best friend and they want to go where you’ve just been. What tips can you give them?
6. Think about your photos
They need to be high quality (although if you’re emailing them to LandCruise you’ll probably need to reduce the size to less than a GB. Photoshop is great for this if you have it.)
People love ‘inspiring’ photos rather than ‘funny family memories.’ Photos of the motorhome in a beautiful location are always good. Photos of the stunning scenery or local castle are also good. Photos of your fish and chips, unless they’re beautifully presented, are probably not going to inspire many people. (Except for me- now I really fancy fish and chips. Shame I’m in France!!)
Also, try and edit the photos, even if it’s just with the standard capabilities of your phone. Most photos look better with a little extra brightness and sharpening up (but only a little bit- don’t over edit either!)
7. Provide a Bio
Write a short bio for LandCruise to include with your post. Just your name, where you travelled to, what time of year it was and how many of you there were in the motorhome. You might also like to add your rough age- ie, retired couple or young family. It helps anyone reading to get a sense of who you are and how your experiences might apply to them.
8. Don’t wait until the last minute to start writing
Please don’t underestimate how long it can take to gather your photos (and edit them!), and then write your post. For a start, you’ll need to remember what the heck happened. I ALWAYS make notes on my phone as we travel. At least once a day I’ll track where we’ve been, what we’ve done and any funny/ embarrassing things that happened- (my Facebook page loves those!) I add the date and the location- you’ll be amazed how quickly you forget things. Having this list makes it so much easier to go back and write about.
9. Finally, PROOF READ your work
Ideally, sleep on it and read it through again slowly in the morning. Even better, get someone else to read it for you. They will be able to spot spelling errors much better than you, because you know what it’s SUPPOSED to say. Another trick is to read it out loud to yourself. You can naturally tell if sentences are too long, if it’s a bit too ‘wordy’ or if you need to clarify something which doesn’t make sense.

How to apply
Email firstname.lastname@example.org, stating how many of you will be travelling, the dates you’d like to go, along with a short statement as to why you think you should be chosen.
We must receive your written blog no later than 1 month after your return, or we will charge you the full cost of the hire.
Entrants must hold a UK drivers licence and be between the ages of 25-75, and have held said drivers licence for a minimum of 2 years.
Upon collection of the vehicle we take a Security Bond of £1000 as pre-authorisation of a credit or debit card.
