A lot of people who hire a motorhome from us like to venture north of the border and visit Scotland for all that it has to offer; vibrant cities, idyllic landscapes, Mediterranean like beaches, and the North Coast 500.

Throw into the mix Scotland’s laws on wild camping and you can see why so many find it an appealing destination.

But what if there was somewhere that offered equally beautiful scenery, thriving cities, ancient castles, and it only took half the time to get there?!

Stunning landscapes

Wales is packed to the gills with things to do and see. With no fewer than three National Parks, Snowdonia, the Pembrokeshire Coast and Bannau Brycheiniog, each with countryside as varied and diverse as the next.

You’ll find not only some of the best beaches in the world, but also some of finest rivers and stunning scenery too.

Vibrant cities

The two bustling coastal cities of Swansea and Cardiff provide everything in the way of restaurants and bars to top quality shops and museums.

Or how about somewhere a little more quaint? St Davids is the smallest city in Britain and is an ideal spot for you Whale and Dolphin fans as they have several operators who offer wildlife watching boat trips.

The unexpected

Or perhaps you’re after a small taste of Italy, then Portmeirion is for you.

Made famous as the location for 60’s British TV series, The Prisoner, it was designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975 in the style of an Italian village, with brightly coloured buildings, with piazzas, Roman columns and pantiled roofs.

One of Wales’ premier visitor attractions, the village is surrounded by 70 acres of exotic woodlands and mile after mile of scenic walks.

Adventure

For the more adventurous of you Wales offers a plethora of outdoor activities, whether its scaling Mt Snowden, horse riding in the Brecon Beacons or surfing on the Gower Peninsula.

But perhaps the most extreme of them all is a trip to Zipworld, home of two mile long zip lines where riders can exceed 100mph, 500ft high and experience the nearest thing to flying.
