How to find campsites

There are two ways to enjoy a motorhome holiday – just go wherever the road takes you or to plan all of your stopovers and activities in advance. The following resources will help you to plan ahead:

Campsite Directories

There are a number of online directories available to help you book your campsite. In our opinion, the best web site to look for places to stay is ukcampsite.co.uk. They include:

• Reviews on every campsite in the UK and France
• Search by town or county
• A list of sites open all year round

Other web sites include:
Hip Camp
Pitchup

Another great resource worth a mention is Searchforsites.co.uk. They feature parking, pub and other stopovers, a route planner as well as campsites across the UK & Europe. They also have a great mobile app, so whilst you’re away you will have wealth of information available at your finger tips.

Brit Stops

An alternative to booking/visiting campsites is to stay in motorhome stopovers.

Brit Stops is a network of free motorhome stopovers all over Britain. They take the form of farm shops, country pubs, vineyards, and many more interesting sites where motorhome tourists can rest, stop over and travel on the next morning having enjoyed some local produce.

To take advantage of the scheme, you’ll need to buy the Brit Stops Guide book, which shows you where all the stops are located, and doubles up as your membership card.
