New procedures we have put in place

As we edge our way back to something resembling normality many people will be looking to enjoy their summer holidays in and around the UK, in particular, camping holidays

As self-isolating holidays go, most campsites were already well set up with safe distancing between pitches. Communal areas such as toilet and shower blocks will have new measures in place to reduce numbers at any one time, but even that shouldn’t be a concern as you will be completely self-sufficient with all the washing and cooking facilities you need within your motorhome.

All of us are going to have to make changes to the way we go about doing things in future, and here at LandCruise we are no different.

We have amended some of the processes for the collection and return of our vehicles. These new procedures have been put in place for the protection and safety of our customers and staff.

We believe that the changes we have made will both reassure and provide the confidence you need that we are doing everything in our power to minimise the risk and spread of infection.

What we have done

In the office we have installed a new reception counter with Perspex divider where all paperwork will be completed.

Hand sanitizer will be available, and must be applied, for all who enter our offices.

We will no longer be offering use of the office toilet facilities to customers. Instead customers can use the facilities within their motorhome.

We will no longer be doing any viewings of our fleet. We are investing in getting 360° Virtual Tours of all of our vehicles to be available on our website.

We will be implementing a ‘3 Stage Clean’ of all our vehicles both before and after each hire.

  1. Disinfectant spray on all touch areas
  2. Usual high standard deep clean (hoovering, dusting, washing, etc)
  3. Second disinfectant wipe down of all touch areas (handles, steering wheel, gear lever, etc)

For your own peace of mind we recommend that you bring your own hand sanitiser and anti-bacterial wipes for when you are away.

We have put up signs reminding both staff and customers of our new procedures and that Health and Safety is the responsibility of all of us.

New rules and procedures for collection of motorhomes – in the office

Only one customer/booking to be in the office at any time.

Motorhome driver(s) only to enter the office and complete all paperwork/necessary payment.

No children or pets allowed to enter the office – no exceptions.

Hand sanitiser must be used upon entry – will be available on the counter.

Security Bond and other payments to be made as a ‘Customer Not Present’ payment. Outstanding payments to be paid by card or BACS only – no cash.

New rules and procedures for collection of motorhomes – at the workshop

Once all necessary paperwork is complete you will be asked to get back in your car, drive round to our workshop where you will be directed to park next to your motorhome/campervan.

An exterior visual check will be done alongside a member of staff. Internal checks to be done by the customer.

Once the check is complete customers will then be able to transfer any belongings.

If leaving a car with us, customers will be asked to drive their car round to our secure compound. A member of staff will direct you exactly where to park. We will no longer keep hold of customer’s keys. Leaving a car with us is done so at the customers own risk.

We will no longer be providing customers with any handover instruction of their motorhome/campervan. Instead we ask that customers watch the ‘How-to’ Videos detailing the use of all main features and facilities before arrival. Links to videos specific to the vehicle booked will be included within the booking confirmation email, as well as being provided on a USB stick that can be plugged into the TV within the motorhome.

A ‘Quick Start Guide’ will be provided within the motorhome to allow customers to set off as quickly as possible.

New rules and procedures for returning of motorhomes

Customers will receive an email 2 days before the end date of hire detailing what they need to do before returning the vehicle, ie removing any rubbish, emptying the toilet cassette, filling up with diesel, and cleaning of the motorhome.

Upon arrival at LandCruise, drive back to the workshop, stop at the sign, and seek attention from a member of staff.

Customers will be shown where to park the motorhome, then directed to retrieve their car from the compound.

Remove all belongings, remembering to double check everywhere, as we will no longer be able to return any lost/forgotten items*.

An inspection will then be carried out by a member of staff for any damage occurred, cleanliness**, and to check the vehicle has been returned with a full tank of fuel.

We would like to thank you all for your cooperation with our new procedures as we aim to keep you and all our staff safe, whilst minimising any inconvenience to your holiday.

The LandCruise Team

* Lost Property – we will no longer be keeping any items left in our motorhomes once customers have left, with the exception of important/valuable items, such as passports, credit cards, and mobile phones. Upon finding any such items we will inform the customer by email and items will be kept for no longer than two weeks. It will be up to the customer to arrange a courier to pick up any items. We will not be sending it back ourselves.

**If a vehicle is returned uncleaned, or deemed unsuitably cleaned, a charge will be incurred.
