The North Coast 500 is Scotland’s ultimate road trip. It was the first of it’s kind in making us want to follow a guided route in one of the world’s most beautiful places and still remains the most popular road trip route in the UK.
Starting point: Circular route from/to Inverness
Length: 516 miles
What you’ll see: Stunning coastal scenery between the white sandy beaches on the Atlantic coast and the rugged hilltops passing fishing villages, castles & lochs. If you are lucky, you may see whales and dolphins out to sea or seals along the coast.

Starting point: Coniston

What you’ll see: Explore some of the remote parts of the Lake District through mountain passes and picturesque villages. Head from Coniston through Langdale Valley, over Wrynose and Hardknott passes and then down to Eskdale and the Duddon Valley before returning down the edge of Coniston Water.

Starting point: Amroth
Length: 200 miles
What you’ll see: Drive along the coast of Wales from Amroth through 30 towns and villages to St Davids.

An iconic road trip from Dorset, all around the West Country to Watchet in Somerset.
Starting point: Poole
Length: 200 miles
What you’ll see: You get off to a fabulous start from Sandbanks.

Plan your own road trip through England’s newest National Park
Starting point: Eastbourne
Length: 112 miles
What you’ll see: Take the country and coastal roads as much as possible and stay off the A27 in order to make the most of the rolling chalk downlands and the wooded heaths. Travel from Eastbourne to the East past Chichester and through to Winchester to the West. The best views are from Beachy Head, Seven Sisters, Devils Dyke and Kingly Vale.
